Happy first day of fall! Though the CCI crew is sad to see summer end, many of us are excited about autumn.

Here are some of our favorite ways to spend the season…

“I like going to Starved Rock to see all the changing fall colors. It’s nice just shuffling through the leaves, feeling the cool air and seeing all the lady bugs that are so prevalent this time of year.”

“Pumpkin patches and apple orchards. Scary movies every. dang. day. Apple cider and pumpkin carving. Fright fest and haunted houses. Football. Outdoor walks/hikes with our dog in beautiful landscapes. Get aways to Michigan. Decorating the house. Fall festivals in small towns. Making my Halloween costume! Inviting myself to Jess and her mom’s new tradition.”

“I like going to all the local haunted houses—the ones people manually build on their front yards. It’s a new tradition, but just Mom and I go and we get the pants scared off of us. I particularly appreciate the hard work the folks do, especially when they come out and act as characters themselves. Seriously Spookytown.”
